Is Sathya Sai Baba the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba?
Shirdi Sai Baba died in 1918. Sathya Sai Baba (1926-2011) is a well-known spiritual leader in India. As he was played up by the mass media in Japan, Sathya Sai Baba is a well-known saint in Japan, too.
As described in Wikipedia, Sathya Sai Baba proclaimed himself: “I am the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba and an Avatar.”  Sai Baba means a holy person and Avatar stands for the incarnation of god.
It is common knowledge to devotees of Sai Baba that Sathya Sai Baba is the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. However, this is not true.
Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba are completely different souls. You can confirm this by yourself.
Prepare two pieces of paper both sides of which is white; write the names of Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba on each paper. Hold each card lightly with your hands and synchronize yourself with the card’s vibrations. At that time, focus your attention on your physical body (in a narrow definition). Then, you feel Shirdi Sai Baba has a presence of physical body, but Sathia Sai Baba has no presence at all.
This means that Shirdi Sai Baba has been reborn and has the physical body, while Sathya Sai Baba has no physical body. Therefore, we find these two persons are different people.
Like this, religious belief is perceived notion and different from the fact to a great extent. I don’t mention here whether Sathya Sai Baba mistook himself to be the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba or he intentionally told a lie.
If applying the simple method I told you also to his Linga Sarira and causal body, you will learn more about him.
I tell you the method not to create a special religious belief anew but to liberate you from a wrong world view you have had by examining it by yourself.
The truth help liberate truth seekers but bring into disaster those who cling to an illusion and retreat into their own world view. Specifically speaking, those whose religious belief increases egoism give an angry response when the truth is told. When such anger is directed to true god, karma immediately gets back to them and leads to self-destruction. There will be no problem if simply ego is destroyed. However, it is likely that even soul (jiva) will be destroyed. It may safe to say that the absolute edge is the Last Judgment.

Anecdote
A man who committed theft was arrested. He mentioned the name of Sai Baba from spite: “He told me to do so.” His name had already been known. The police, of course, never believed what the thief said. But they visited Sai Baba and asked in joke: “It is of course a lie, isn’t it?” Sai Baba answered: “Yes, he did so as I told him.”
