English translation of an excerpt from a Japanese article: The Voice of Russia (JP) – Radiation Block Paper Developed in Japan (June 8, 2012)

Toppan Printing Co. Ltd in Japan has developed special paper to block radiation.  This paper has high-density tungsten mixed and blocks radiation effectively like lead plate.

This lightweight paper is said to be harmless to the human body.

This development by the company will create a new possibility to manufacture more lightweight radiation protective clothing which can be used for operation in Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant No. 1.

New material is said to cost less than $410/m2
