On 9 Mr. Eda, former secretary general of
Your Party, submitted a written notice of departure from the party and clearly
stated his intention to form a new party.
In response to it, Your Party leader Watanabe criticized him, saying “A
new party has no good cause and it is sure to fail.” He also said “We’ll have Mr. Eda leave the
party.”
Party leader Watanabe gave a speech in
Tokyo. He criticized
former secretary general of Your Party, who had submitted a written notice of
departure from the party on 9 and clearly stated his intention to form a new
party, saying “A new party formed in December just for party subsides has no
good cause and is sure to fail. Mr. Eda
criticizes our party outside without attending any party meetings. Who has devalued the
party?”
