I think that this eruption shows us that volcanic eruption prediction is impossible. If such eruption had been able to be predicted in advance, restrict to the entry to the mountain should had been made earlier. NHK TV crew happened to be around the eight station of the mountain to produce another program. They succeed in filming real footage but I realize they were absolutely terrified.
We should realize that this is a message
indicating that we must not restart nuclear power plant operations. NHK has just broadcast a special program on

Mt. Ontake, a volcano straddling Nagano and Gifu prefectures, erupted around 11:53 a.m. on September 27. It has been found that among climbers stranded
on the mountaintop are some injured people including seriously injured persons. According to the report of Kiso Wide-Area
Fire Headquarters, at least eight injured persons are
in an isolated mountain lodge.
One of them is so seriously injured that
he/she cannot move at all. The local
fire department has dispatched emergency unit to the route of the climb to
prepare for treatment of the person. It
has also been found that about 200 people who were climbing went down the
mountain after the eruption.
It appears that a
cabin isolated on the mountaintop had holes on the roof and we have information that there are a
number of people collapsing outside the lodge. The site appears to be in a tense atmosphere. It is likely that rescue teams will arrive
late due to continuing active eruption activity.
Since such volcanic eruption makes it
difficult for aircraft to approach to the site due to volcanic ash, relief
