[Foreign News Never Covered by Mass Media] What Suffers Brave People Telling the Truth

Indeed, it is the same with every country that “telling the truth has been criminalized.”
This is because there is not anything more inconvenient to people in power than truth.  If a law is properly applied, they cannot find any place to stay.
On the other hand, if people in power have right to use a law, they misuse the law and make the country a police state.  If somebody gives a warning to the people to prevent it, he/she is called a conspiracy theorist.  In this way, the bad who crowd around power to take the lion’s share maintain perfectly well-balanced relations with the poor who never try to understand the truth and show indifferent attitude.  If you want to change the world for better, you have no other choice but to face your own foolishness within you.

What Suffers Brave People Telling the Truth

----------------------------------------
(Excerpt from the above text)

Paul Craig Roberts
In America truth is offensive. If you tell the truth, you are offensive.
--------------------
But how long before being offensive becomes
being “an enemy of the state”?
Throughout history truth tellers have suffered and court historians have prospered. It is
the same today. Gerald Celente illustrates this brilliantly in the next issue of the Trends
Journal.

--------------------
If you tell readers what is really going on, they want to know why you can’t be positive. Why are you telling
us that there are bad happenings that can’t be remedied? Don’t you know that God
gave Americans the power to fix all wrongs?
What are you? Some kind of idiot, an anti-American, a pinko-liberal-commie? If you hate America so much, why don’t you move to Cuba, Iran or China (or to wherever the current bogyman is located)?
--------------------
In America and everywhere in the Western world or the entire world, telling the truth is
unpopular. Indeed, in the USA telling the truth has been criminalized. Look for example at Bradley Manning, held for two years in prison without bail and without a trial in violation of the US Constitution, tortured for one year of his illegal confinement in violation of US and international law, and now put on trial by corrupt prosecutors for aiding “enemies of the US” by revealing the truth, as required of him by the US military code. US soldiers are required to report war crimes. When Bradley Manning’s superiors showed themselves to be indifferent to war crimes, Manning reported the crimes via WikiLeaks. What else does a soldier with a sense of duty and a moral conscience do when the chain of command is corrupt?
Julian Assange is another example. WikiLeaks has taken up the reporting function that the Western media has abandoned.
--------------------
Julian Assange stepped into the vacuum and was immediately demonized, not merely by Washington but also by left-wing and right-wing media, including Internet.
--------------------
Without WikiLeaks and Assange the world would know essentially nothing. Spin from Washington, the presstitute media, and the puppet state medias would prevail. So the word went out to destroy Julian Assange.
--------------------
even though he has been granted political asylum by Ecuador, the British government, obeying its Washington master, refuses to allow him safe passage out of the London Ecuador Embassy.

--------------------
In contrast with “freedom and democracy” US and UK, the “authoritarian,” “communist,” “oppressive” Chinese government when confronted with Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng’s defection to the US embassy in Beijing, let him go.

--------------------
Insouciant americans are undisturbed that alleged terrorists are tortured, held indefinitely in prison without due process, and executed on the whim of some executive branch official without due process of law.
--------------------
The world needs intelligence and leadership in order to avoid catastrophe, but america can provide neither intelligence nor leadership. America is a lost land where nuclear weapons are in the hands of those who are concerned only with their own power. Washington is the enemy of the entire world and encompasses the largest concentration of evil on the planet.
Where is the good to rise up against the evil?

[The Voice of Russia] Homeless Needs No Lottery (Video)

I assure that he is a genuine sage.  If many people on earth were humans like Mr. Mahurin, there would no poverty or war on earth.
There are very few who really get to know what real “happiness” is.

Homeless Needs No Lottery (Video)

A homeless, who comes from Bloomington, Illinois, has smiles for the first time in several decades.  Mr. Dennis Mahurin, 58, won $50,000 in a $3 lottery.  That much money could have enabled him to go out of the life on the streets.  However, his answer was to continue living in a tent.  This is a report from the Metro.

Mr. Mahurin started living on the streets in 1978.  Early in April, 2013, the man bought a $3 lottery at a gas station.  Contrary to everybody’s expectations, the winner declares “Life on the streets has already been a part of my nature.  “I am happy.  I’m happy as can be,” he says.  The jackpot will be used partly to replace the old tent with a new one, to have dental work done and to visit his son.  According to Mr. Mahurin, the money left will be shared with his “unhappy” friends.

[Ms. Mika Tsutsumi, a writer and journalist]

War is a kind of game for the young generation in America.  War is a game; a game seen in movies or videos.  However, American returning soldiers from Iraq, who actually went to battle and were forced to murder people, say: “It was wrong.  When we kill one person, the game is over and our life is also over.  But our generation didn’t know about it because we had lived in a peaceful country.”

[Ms. Mika Tsutsumi says that to protect the Article 9 of the Constitution, first of all, the Article 25 (Right to Live) has to be guaranteed.] 0:23-0:29

[Ms. Mika Tsutsumi encountered the 9/11 terrorist attacks while at work.  She is the author of “Hope Ground Zero Gave Me.”  She received the Kiyoshi Kuroda Rookie Award from the Japan Journalist Conference for her book “Revolution of the Weak in America Never Told by News Report” published in 2006.  She serves as assistant newscaster of “Deeper Layer of News.” ] 0:32-0:50

The Article 9 always evokes an image of war and peace.  For people who are living in an era of peace, including the old me, war seems to be something that is happening on the other side of the ocean and it does not ring a bell.  The article 25 guarantees we can live an ordinary life and live like humans.  To protect the article will eventually lead to realizing a world with no war.

[Article 25: (Right to Live) All people shall have the right to maintain the minimum standards of wholesome and cultured living.] 1:05-1:13

Take for example, today’s young people.  When I talk to them, life in a peaceful country is not of primary interest for them and they worry that they cannot live an ordinary life, they might be working poor, or they cannot get a pension.  Some girls say, “I can’t get married.”  Their greatest concern is about whether they can survive; their right to live is in danger.  They are more concerned about their right to live than the Article 9.  While gathering information in the U.S., I’ve found that if you don’t want your children to go to battle, protection of the Article 9 is not sufficient.  The Article 9 is a law and a last resort to make historical ends meet.  Around when Article 9 is revised, children of Net cafe refugees or the working poor will have already been sent off to war in exchange for the right to live.  This is going on in the U.S.  As they are sent off as temporary workers, they are not reported in the media.  (Sent off by corporations as a member?)  The Iraq war is a privatized war.  Well, Japan is following suit.  In America, speaking more specifically, social welfare spending has been reduced since the 9/11 and the middle class people have become poor all at once; the working poor and people deeply in debt have significantly increased.  What do they do?  They are recruited by private temporary manpower companies to go to battle in exchange for the right to live.  They

[They have created the extremely poor in the country.  This forces even anti-war protesters to go to battle for a living.] 2:31-2:40
[Privatized war] 2:41-2:45

They have created the extremely poor in the country.  This forces even anti-war protesters to go to battle for a living.  This war is a privatized war.  Therefore, the young generation feels the right to live is more threatened.  It is important to put a brake against expansion of the gap between the rich and the poor and not to have the government monopolize information, that is, not to have information centralized in the government.

[Message from American returnees from Iraq to Japanese] 2:55-3:02

I’ve got a message from American returnees.  We tend to specify our enemies.  We tend to do so because we are human beings.  Soldiers who were in Iraq say, “When we were in Iraq, we thought that our enemies were the government, big companies such as Halliburton and the mass media, which manipulate information.  But when we came back to America, we found that it was wrong.”  They say, “The enemy is not the government, big companies, or the mass media but our, the people’s indifference, ignorance and feeling of giving up.”
Please never mistake the enemy we fight with.  Please fight with feeling of giving up and indifference we have within and let’s hold hands with them across the ocean.  If we do so, we can definitely choose our future.  I hope we will be able to choose our future.

[We can choose our future.] 3:48-3:54

China: 28,000 of 50,000 Rivers Have Disappeared

The dry riverbed of the Gan river, a tributary of the Yangtze.

I hear that more than half of Chinese rivers have disappeared.  Additionally, lakes have disappeared, too.  In a word, water, the element indispensable for life activity id disappearing.  Large rivers are no exception. The Yellow River has already dried up. Exacerbation of desertification has been in progress in China.  And yet, existing rivers have been polluted and many of them are actually inappropriate to drink.

In general, China is becoming difficult to secure food and drink.  Japanese policymakers ought to take it seriously.

On earth we will see chaotic days for a certain period of time, during which the confusion and destruction of global economy accompanied by natural disasters is expected to make the world in a state of panic.  If so, we ought to work out a plan to survive, taking into consideration the possibility that the international order, which has been stable so far, will be collapsed, the earth will be in turmoil the same as in the street, and the world will depict a picture of the hell where the weak is the victims of the strong.

l  28,000 rivers wiped off the map of China

[The Times March 30, 2013]

(Excerpt from the original text)

More than half of the rivers previously thought to exist in China appear to be missing, according to the 800,000 surveyors who compiled the first national water census, leaving Beijing fumbling to explain the cause.
Only 22,909 rivers covering an area of 100sq km were located by surveyors, compared with the more than 50,000 in the 1990s, a three-year study by the Ministry of Water Resources and the National Bureau of Statistics found.
Officials blame the apparent loss on climate change, arguing that it has caused waterways to vanish, and on mistakes by earlier cartographers. But environmental experts say the disappearance of the rivers is a real and direct manifestation of headlong, ill-conceived development, where projects are often imposed without public consultation.
The UN considers China one of the 13 countries most affected by water scarcity, as industrial toxins have poisoned historic water sources and were blamed last year for turning the Yangtze an alarming shade of red.
This month, the carcasses of about 16,000 pigs dumped in the river were pulled from its waters, and 1000 dead ducks were found dumped this week in the Nanhe River in Sichuan province.
Ma Jun, a water expert at the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, said the missing rivers were a cause for "great attention" and underscored the urgent need for a more sustainable mode of development.
"One of the major reasons is the over-exploitation of the underground water reserves, while environmental destruction is another reason, because desertification of forests has caused a rain shortage in the mountain areas," Mr Ma said.
Large hydroelectric projects such as the Three Gorges Dam, which diverted trillions of litres of water to drier regions, were likely to have played a role, he said.
The census also charted a decline in water quality. The report came as new Premier Li Keqiang pledged greater transparency on pollution, which Communist Party rulers fear is a potential catalyst for social unrest.
"We must take the steps in advance, rather than hurry to handle these issues when they have caused a disturbance in society," Mr Li said, according to state media.

Will Water in Tokyo Metropolitan Area Disappear?

Water Resources Bought Up by Foreign Capital One After Another

As the forests in the country have been bought up by foreign capital, water of the Tokyo Metropolitan area is in danger.  Although Prime Minister Abe spoke about the protection of water resources in the Diet, he has not taken any measures yet.

According to the Forest Agency, at least 760 hectares of forest have been bought up by foreign companies (at the end of fiscal year 2011).

However, “this is just the tip of the iceberg,” which is a warning of Mr Junji Hashimoto, the author of “Groundwater in Japan in Danger,” who is familiar with the water problem.

There are some cases in which forests are actually controlled by Chinese companies under the names of Japanese.  It is safe to say that at a moderate estimate 1,000 hectares of forest have been bought up by them.  Forestland is cheap, 500,000 JPY per hectare.  And sale and purchase of forestland is allowed even to a foreigner without any regulations.  The forestland in the Metropolitan area has been eroded.  It is known that the two cases in Hakone have been bought up by an individual and a corporation (both of Chinese nationals), one case in Chichibu, upper reach of the Arakawa river, Saitama, and three cases in Gunma, upper reach of the Tone river have been bought up by foreign capital.

It was not until 2011 that these problems were brought to light.  A Singaporean bought 44 hectares of land with water right in Tsumagoi village, Gunma Prefecture.  As the purchase of the land was registered to the local town, the residents, who were worried about water shortage, responded strongly against it.

People living in the Metropolitan area cannot feel secure because the upper reaches of the Arakawa and the Tone rivers have actually been bought up.  There is no guarantee that water will never be bought up and reservoirs will never dry up.

“Some local governments in Kanto have been taking measures to protect reservoirs by establishing regulations.  The revised Forest Ac was established in April 2012.  The Act stipulates that any transaction in land, regardless of area, should be notified to the governor within 90 days.  This will help grasp the situation, but the report after notification cannot work as a brake against buyout of forestland.  However, if a landowner insists on property right, there is nothing to object to it.” (Comment by Mr. Hashimoto)

We have no other choice but to promptly take measures.

Flash Report: Former Prime Minister Yuko Hatoyama Launches “East Asian Community Research Institute.”   Mr. Ukeru Magosaki Serves as Director.

It has been revealed that former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama will launch the “East Asian Community Research Institute.”
It seems that the office has made a start.

Mr. Ukeru Magosaki, has become unpaid director of the institute.  According to him, he will start working on April 1.
Mr. Magosaki responded to press inquiry: “We will research about the Futenma issue.  What made Mr. Hatoyama wander back and forth with the Futenma issue?  I am going to actively provide information on it on the blog.”

It is likely that the Institute will provide new information on Japan’s policy just following the U.S. and serve as a policy-research center.

[Raba Q] What? Pictures of North Korea Completely Discloses Secret – “Kim Jong-un, thank you for showing your plan to us all”

Pictures of North Korea Completely Discloses Secret - Kim Jong-un, thank you for showing your plan to us all”

North Korea-related news turns up the heat.

As yesterday First Secretary Kim Jong-un gave an instruction “to hold attacking” US bases and released photographs of a strategy meeting, neighboring countries has come under strain.

However, the pictures, which were posted humorously on overseas bulletin boards: “Thank you for showing your strategy to us all,” were gaining great popularity among viewers.

What secrets did released pictures show?  Just look at them.

It is a strategy meeting with a tense atmosphere.
The problem is the part surrounded by a red circle.

“US MAINLAND STRIKE PLAN” described majestically in Korean

I see.  They are planning to attack in this way.

The PC he uses seems to be an Apple-made product.

Although the mover of North Korea is hardly predictable, the pictures were gaining great popularity among internet users, who say “Anyway, thank you for releasing your plan.”

  • Oh, don’t release it.  All people will start moving here.
  • I felt scared as a resident of Nebraska.
  • It is safe in Detroit, too.  Well, it is really a good experience to live in a town which looks like an already blown-up one.
  • As Detroit is originally a ruined city, nothing will change.
  • Why is Kim Jon-un such a clown?
  • Every day I spend time arranging shameful time for him.
  • According to an article, pictures were intended to be used internally.  But the 21st century is the Internet society, and ……
  • “Internally means ‘within the country,” not “within the government.’”
  • If these kinds of pictures are leaked for the sake of morale, the people seriously take that attacks on the American mainland will take place.  As people in other countries can’t contact them, North Koreans never mind whatever we say.  The North Korean government knows that we don’t believe them.
  • However, why are they going to attack Mexico with nuclear weapons, too?
  • To damage labor power in America.
  • What a relief!  No plan to attack New York.
  • Because nuclear missiles can’t reach there.
  • He has to be the ”worst of worst” but a part of me wants to give him a nudge, spank his bottom and say “Tiger, you can go.”

In spite of a strained problem, every comment lacked tension.

[Mr. Naoto Amaki] Can Prime Minister Abe forcibly hold a ceremony to celebrate the “anniversary of sovereignty restoration,” which will torment the Emperor?

As for the war responsibility of Emperor Showa, my personal opinion is that he cannot exempt from it.  I believe that the Emperor keenly had felt himself responsible for the war and thought we should never wage war.

I also think that it was Hideki Tojo that died after taking the rap for whole responsibility to protect the Emperor and that he might have been a real hero.  I am not a right-winger or a left-winger, either.

I have no interest in any ideology.  I just think so.  If not, it is incomprehensible that the soul of Hideki Tojo exists in the empyreal of the Sirius System 1st level.  We have to review what situation led to the war.

Can Prime Minister Abe forcibly hold a ceremony to celebrate the “anniversary of sovereignty restoration”, which will torment the Emperor?

Subsequently, no coverage on a ceremony to celebrate the “anniversary of sovereignty restoration” has been given.  I wonder if such ceremony can be held.

I repeatedly said so.

In a serial article (12) entitled “Background Story of Nagata-cho To Read” carried in the Nikkan Gendai, a tabloid evening paper, on March 30, Mr. Takeshi Takano, a journalist, wrote completely the same as what I had spoken of, which suggests that he had already known my idea.

In a word, he has written that April 28 is not only a “day of humiliation” in Okinawa but also a day of humiliation for the entire Japanese who submitted to the control of the U.S.

That’s right.

However, his article has made me recognize something more important.

He says.  With a strong opposition in Okinawa, if this goes on, Okinawa will miss a ceremony to celebrate the “anniversary of sovereignty restoration.”  But the ceremony is a major event where the Emperor and Empress will attend at.  If Okinawa fails to attend at the ceremony, Rightists will start making noises by saying “How dare you refuse to participate in the independence ceremony where the Emperor and Empress will attend at.”  If so, Okinawa would say, “If you say to that extent, Okinawa is going to seriously choose a way of independence.”

Mr. Takano’s writing has an incredibly serious meaning.

In a word, it is a well-known fact that Okinawa was cut off from Japan and was placed under U.S. occupation by Emperor Showa.  And it is the present Emperor and Empress that have felt most deeply distressed about Okinawa.  It is hardly possible that they will gladly attend at such ceremony that Okinawa boycotts.

Yes, wise readers will understand that if Prime Minister Abe forcibly holds a ceremony to celebrate the “sovereignty day,” it will torment the Emperor and Empress and make them sad.  It would be a lie if rightists do not rebel against it.  Nevertheless, does Prime Minister Abe intend to forcibly hold the ceremony to commemorate the “anniversary of sovereignty restoration”?
