I’d like to recommend you to watch the video below, which explicitly explains the difference between the New Testament and the Old Testament. You can understand well what Christianity is like. At any rate, the first 50 seconds was shocking to me. I honestly feel “why this kind of thing has to be referred to!”

People who have read some parts of the Old Testament should have been surprised at what is said in the video. In a word, the Old Testament God is closer to the devil in character. If there is such a person close to you, you would feel sick. Since such person is undoubtedly a psychopath, we can say that you should keep away from him.

In short, the New Testament God and the Old Testament God have so different characters. However, Christians believe that they are the same God. If they are the same God, we have no other choice but to think that God has multiple personality.

The first article tells us that from the viewpoint of Christianity, the God of the Old Testament is identical to the God of the New Testament. And yet, the article also says: “Although it seems that the work of God in the Old Testament era is different from that in the New Testament era, it is exactly true.” It indicates that the God of the Old Testament is so abnormal that they cannot help make such contradictory statements. I think that it is faith to believe that the two Gods are the same.

If I should defend the work of the God in the Old Testament, I think that the God tried to protect the people of Israel from Satanism. It is natural to think that it is Satanists that the God ordered “to completely destroy and not to leave.” However, even if that is the case, I feel the insanity of God who orders to “kill all the men, women, children, and babies, the cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.” 

Although it is difficult to understand the God of the Old Testament, Gnosticism gives an easy interpretation to the God as follows: “The God of the Old Testament who created the world is different from the God who tries to save people through Jesus Christ.” Some sects of Gnosticism think that the God of the Old Testament is an inferior god and Satan. Since the world was created by this evil god, “it is rather natural that this world is filled with evil.” It turns out that it is the God of the New Testament who sent Jesus to this unclean world to save people.

The interpretation by Theosophy goes into depth: the God of the Old Testament is not Satan but a lower god. As is the case in Gnosticism, an inferior god is the creator of lower nature (physical body, etheric body, astral body and mental body) but cannot create higher nature (spirit).

For Theosophists, the savior who sent Jesus is Lucifer (Sanat Kumara). Helena Blavatsky shows in her book that she is an advocate for Lucifer and Alice Bailey established the Lucifer Trust (renamed as the Lucis Trust later). It is apparent that Lucifer is identical to Sanat Kumara.

The last article says that “Gnosticism is very attractive” to those who believe that this world is evil. It also says: “if you want to make a lot of money by setting up a religious organization, you should incorporate such teachings into the doctrine.” The reality is that channeling-related religious cults based on Theosophy have been rampant since the publication of Helena Blavatsky’s great magnum opus, “The Secret Doctrine.”

Q3: What is the difference between the New Testament and the Old Testament? [The Bible you can understand in three minutes]

Question 1: What is the meaning of ‘yaku’ of Kyuyaku (Old Testament) and Shinyaku (New Testament) in Japanese?

Answer: ‘yaku’ in Japanese means not ‘translation’ but ‘covenant with God.’ Therefore, the two mean old covenant and new convent, respectively. The old covenant and the new covenant get together as one, the Bible. 

Question 2: What is the Old Testament all about?

Answer: In a word, it is the history of the people of Israel. The God chose the Israelites and tried to save the whole humanity by using them. The origin of the people is Abraham succeeded by Isaac and Jacob. Jacob was given the name of Israel and the 12 tribes were descended from Jacob. Therefore, the Old Testament is the history of the Israelites. God promised that the Messiah would be born from a descendant of David. This is the contents of the old covenant.

Question 3: What is the New Testament all about?

Answer: The New Testament writes that a promised Messiah has arrived and Jesus is the Messiah. Therefore, we should never separate the Old Testament from the New Testament. Although some people say that the Old Testament is over and all we have to do is read the New Testament, it is wrong. The Old Testament is overwhelming long. We have to read the New Testament in the context of the Old Testament. What is the role of Jesus Christ who appeared as the promised Messiah? He finished perfect life and died to atone for people’s sin. He revived the third day after he was buried in the tomb. This is the role of Jesus Christ. People who believe this and place trust in him are called the Son of God. The New Testament writes about this good news.

When I finished reading the Old Testament for the first time, all I had was confusion and bewilderment. That is because it seemed that Yahweh, the God of the Old Testament, is only interested in Israel and tries to exterminate other peoples.

Now listen to what the LORD Almighty says.

Go and attack the Amalekites

and completely destroy everything they have.

Don’t leave a thing; kill all the men, women, children, and babies;

the cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.

On the other hand, the God of the New Testament loves all living things and even forgives those who blaspheme.  <snip>  .. Nevertheless, according to Christian doctrine, the God of the New Testament is the same god as the God of the Old Testament.

Gnosticism solves this contradiction elegantly. They say that theGod of the Old Testament who created the world and the God who tries to save people through Jesus Christ are different. Christians should deny this world because the Creation was the work of the God of the Old Testament. Only the soul and the spirit are redeemed. Therefore, the body which is the material has to be denied and abandoned.

Gnosticism can also solve the problem of evil perfectly. “Why does the supreme god and almighty God leave the evils such as natural disasters, wars and plagues as they are?” Ordinary Christianity cannot answer this question well. According to Gnosticism, however, the Creator God is an inferior god and he created the universe with evil intentions by using imperfect materials; therefore it is rather natural that this world is filled with evil, and it is the savior God who sends Jesus Christ to this filthy world and tries to save people.

How should we evaluate such religious thoughts? I think that Gnosticism is a very attractive theology to pessimists who believe that this world is metaphysically evil. If you want to make a lot of money by setting up a new cult, you should incorporate such thoughts into the doctrine.
