At first sight of this photo, few people
will recognize them as hares.

Group of arctic hare like snow balls
The arctic hare has long back paws and runs
fast. They can run up to 60 kilometers
per hour. In the winter, they wear a white
shining coat of fur, which displays excellent mimicry effect on ice and
snow. They change their coat color from
white in the spring to bluish gray, similar in color to rocks or plants in their
habitat, in the winter.
