I feel that these two articles are closely
related to each other. Although I have
no idea of details as I am inexpert in politics, I think NATO has a deep connection
with the Vatican. To speak of extremes, NATO
might be the military forces for the Vatican.
However, the dark side of the Vatican has been disclosed now and NATO
might stay away from it. If my imagination
is right, there is no possibility of World War III.

NATO Considers Russia As Its Partner

In spite of some
differences in view, NATO considers Russia as its partner. According to an interview with
“Tchas,” a Latvian journal released on
Monday, NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow said so.
“We haven’t seen eye to eye in some areas;
the Kosovo conflict in 1990s and Libyan conflict in recent years. On the other hand, we closely worked together
in Afghanistan. We worked together based
on an agreement on regime transition and realized a project to train
Afghanistan helicopter troops,” Deputy Secretary-General Vershbow says.
According to the deputy
secretary-general, there still remains “serious mutual mistrust” between the
two countries, but NATO intends to develop closer cooperative ties with
Russia. “As long as we share the stance
to combat threats in the 21st century, it is possible that NATO will
approach toward Russia in future,” he says.
The deputy secretary-general also hinted
the feasibility for NATO and Russia to reach mutual agreement on deployment of
a missile-defense system in Europe.
According to him, deployment of a missile-defense system in Eastern Europe
will not be a threat to Russia, which has been proved by experts in both
countries and has been documented.

The trial of Pope Benedict XVI’s ex-butler
Paolo Gabriel, who was arrested on charge of stealing Vatican’s confidential
documents, will start on 29th.
The local mass media reported this, citing the information from Vatican’s
public relations department.
In April Pope Benedict XVI set up a special
commission to probe the leaking of confidential documents to the media. Leaked documents included information on
corruptions and internal conflicts inside the Vatican as well as Pope’s private
letters.
As a result of investigation, Gabriel was
floated as one of the prime suspects in the incidence of leaking of
confidential documents. The suspect
Gabriel was one of the few people who were allowed to enter Pope’s home.
