Rapid increase in soup kitchens for hungry children in Japan – Terrible Abe administration and Indifference of the People –
Reading the following tweet, I’m sure I am
not the only one that wants to say “You bastard.” There is no way that such Abe
administration is supported. However, the Democratic Party is much more unforgivable.
Then what should we do?
From any angle, inevitably Japan will see a
bankruptcy. In the future, people in the world will laugh at the foolishness of
us Japanese people. Everybody will think that Greeks, who experienced bankruptcy
due to preferential treatment of civil servants, was more respectable than the
Japanese people. Although the Abe administration does terrible things this much,
the people are indifferent to such a terrible administration.

There
are soup kitchens for children who feel hungry or live in poverty in Japan. The number of “soup kitchens for children”
was only 21 in 2013 but it has increased to more than 300 across the country
during subsequent three years. The
number of “soup kitchens” is 319 now. The number is increasing more. ABC News
gave a report on it.

According to Daily Mail, Ms. Setsuko Ito, a
leader of a volunteer group which engages in activities for children and young
people at local communities in Tokyo, says that there are children who don’t
have enough money to buy a plastic bottle of water or juice though wearing a
nice dress or having an expensive smartphone because Japan have a habit to hide
poverty.
“Soup kitchens” are
visited by children who eat poorly for an economic reason or have meals alone
at home because their parents work. Most of “soup kitchens for children” are
sustained through donation from various groups and supporters, Daily Mail says.
A certain manager of “soup kitchen” says
that he has dinner with children to give an opportunity to have one-on-one
communication, to children who lack daily communication with parents who work
all day long.
Ms. Ito point out that the government,
which pays attention to an increase in “soup kitchens for children,” has
already showed its intention to seriously address countermeasures against
children’s poverty.
According to reported statistics, about half of children of single-parent households live in
poverty. The average monthly pay for
single-female-parent household is approximately 1,500 dollars.
