Japan Coast Guard Rescues Chinese Sailors Off Coast of Nagasaki

Jiji Press

On 19th morning at sea off the Ukujima island, Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, a Cambodian-registered freighter ship “DONG HE” sent a distress call.  The Japanese coast-guard patrol ships arrived at the accident scene and rescued 12 crew members including 10 Chinese.  The photo is provided by the 7th Regional Coast Guard.

Comments on the article

* This is different from China.  We should proud of the Japan Coast Guard who did a fine job.
* As may be expected of JCG, they did a fine job though the people they rescued are those who return evil for good.
* Japan should be as cool as steel and act without hesitation as usual.  We do nothing wrong.
* Preciousness of human life should be prioritized even toward a villainous race.  Japanese should think so.
* I wonder if China will save Japanese lost in the deep in the same way as we did.
* You did a fine job.
* I hope that they will not return evil for good.
* Although Chinese were rescued, China is such a country that they will create reasons to attack.
* The Chinese found off the coast of Nagasaki are different from those who have come to the Senkaku islands.  So they are deserved to be saved.
* I wonder if a request for relief by Japanese crew will be answered even now.

[Hibi Zakkan] The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Says “Because of Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant Under Cold Shutdown Condition, Workers Exposed to Radiation Exceeding the Limit Are Not Cared For”

I wonder why they can do such devilish deed.  I do feel that the former USSR was a far more respectable country than Japan.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare Says “Because Stricken Reactors at Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant Reached a State of Quasi-Cold Shutdown, Workers Exposed to Radiation Exceeding the Dose Limit Are Not Cared For”

It is said that the Ministry has stopped providing the subsidies for examination to workers at the Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant who have been exposed to radiation beyond the dose limit, based on the reasoning that the stricken nuclear reactors at Fukushima No. 1 plant has reached a state of quasi-cold shutdown and has been back to the normal state and the plant should be treated in the same way as other nuclear power plants where no accidents have happened.

Work of the Devil

(an excerpt from the NHK news article)

‘Difference” in health support among nuclear power plant workers

September 12, 2012: 1910

It has been found that the subsidy system for examinations shall not apply to subcontract workers exposed to radiation at the TEPCO Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant accident even if they have been exposed to radiation beyond the dose limit anew, after the declaration of quasi-cold shutdown state of reactors made by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare last December.

Experts point out that “As workers are working under the condition of still high dose, the government should keep giving careful support to them.

After the accident, the Ministry designated the work at the plant for restoration from accident as “emergency work” because workers were likely to be exposed to high dose of radiation at the worksite.

As a result, the Ministry called for the employer to have workers examined for cataract in case of cumulative exposure dose exceeding 50 mSv and for cancer in case of cumulative exposure dose exceeding 100 mSv, respectively. It also established the system in which the government subsidizes examination costs to smaller subcontractors.

However, as the government declared the quasi-cold shutdown state of the reactors last December, the Ministry cancelled the designation of “emergency work” and decided to subsidize only workers who had already been exposed to radiation exceeding the dose limit at that time.

In line with the decision , those exposed to radiation exceeding the dose limit can continue to get subsidy for regular examinations, but those who started working immediately after the accident and were found to be exposed to radiation exceeding the dose limit after the declaration or those who joined the work anew after the declaration are exempt from the subsidy system.

Workers are just disposable pieces.

Information from Mr. Masatoshi Takeshita posted on his blog: September 10, 2012

English translation of an excerpt from a Japanese article: “Media Association” Organ Bulletin – September 8, 2012

“Comment on Politics” by Jiro Motozawa “Shizuka Kamai Roars”

I visited the office of Shizuka Kamei located at 3-chome, Yotsuya ward, Tokyo after so long.

“The Noda cabinet is a slaver of the U.S.,” Kamei says definitely.  What he points out is right.

“We have to go back to the past history.  Japan has been occupied by the U.S. for sixty-six years or so.  And yet Japan has not attained independence.  It pretends to be independent.  The peace treaty is nothing but a nominal and ostensible one.”  First of all, this writer wants to welcome it together with many people that such politicians who give exactly the right thing have come into being.

“After the war, the U.S. got control of not only Japan’s politics and economics but also Japanese spirituality.  Great impact after the defeat in war has made the Japanese government readily obey Washington.  Shinsuke Kishi was given money by the U.S.  Twenty-five Japanese policymakers were hired and paid as servants.  Such people dare to call themselves conservative mainstream and have been under the thumb of the U.S.”

Even now every time a specific problem comes out, they depend on the choice of the U.S.  In that case, therefore, politicians have to cope with it with considerable resolve.  Hatoyama is the first prime minister that did it.  How awful JDP members were!  Hatoyama should not have given in without a fight; he should have insisted on transferring the Futenma base from Okinawa Prefecture/from Japan despite of the possibility of creating some discord with the U.S.”

<Matsushita Seikei-Jyuku Graduates, LDP & New Komeito, and Mass Media Including NHK Bow to Washington>

It was the DPJ of Matsushita Seikei-Juku graduates that sided with Washington.  So were bureaucrats in Kasumigaseki and two opposition parties of LDP and New Komeito.  Above all else, mass media including NHK took the initiative in maneuvering public opinion.

The ruling party, two opposition parties, Kasumigaseki bureaucracy and mass media hindered the Hatoyama cabinet with a goal of Japan’s independence from moving toward the goal, to drive him from power.  Is such stupid but rather funny thing be acceptable?

The group subservient to the U.S. had the Hatoyma Cabinet resigned, while they tried to expel Ozawa out of the political arena.  They mobilized the mass media and the prosecutor to achieve their aims.  The prosecutor representing justice, that is supposed to act in accordance with the law and evidence, have strayed from the fundamental rule, worked in an all-out effort to defeat their political opponents and thrown the world into confusion for these several years.

Even the New Komeito and the Japan Communist Party, lovers of fair arguments, volunteered to take a leading role in CIA covert operations.  This is exactly the world of comics.

<Anti-Nuke Demonstration Predicts Changing Times>

Kamei participated in the anti-nuke demonstration surrounding the prime minister’s residence.  The riot police of the Metropolitan Police Department and police officers who were directed to guard the residence must have been surprised to see him.  The public anger at Noda, who deployed the riot police in free peaceful demonstrations by citizens, has increased and as a result anti-nuke demonstrations have spread over across the country.

On July 29th, 200,000 citizens (announced by the organizers) got together to oppose nuclear power generation at Hibiya Park, Tokyo.  What a huge number of participants!  They surrounded the TEPCO buildings and the Diet Building.  Kamei predicts that “This indicates that times are going to change.”  Throwing himself into the circle of demonstration, he must have felt it in his bones.

Anti-nuclear power generation, anti-10 percent of consumption tax, anti-Osprey deployment, and anti-TPP are all interrelated with one another.  Countless numbers of citizens have risen up together to protect their life and livelihood.  It heralds a new era.  This writer takes the movement as changes in politics, economics and society, which can be called “Tokyo spring.”

This movement is an open rebellion against the media.  We should pay tribute to the daily “Nikkan Gendai” which started covering this movement from the beginning four months ago.

<Internet Election Affecting Voting Scares DPL Lawmakers>

The swirl of weekly demonstrations surrounding the prime minister’s residence and big rallies & demonstrations at Yoyogi Park and Hibiya Park is about to change Japan.  “The effect of it will be seen in the upcoming election.  It will change the current politics,” Kamei proudly says.

He is confident of citizens’ change of mind.  “Citizens who act by using the Internet will lead the election.  Information from the Internet will reach voters who appear at tens of thousands of polling stations across the country.  Everybody will vote based on information they gain; who approved a 10 percent tax increase, who approved restarting nuclear power plant operations, or who approved or opposed the Osprey deployment.  This cannot be controlled any longer.  Voter turnout will be high,” Kamei says.  It is not unpredictable.  It is virtually election on the Internet.

“The DPL lawmakers have already been scared.  More and more lawmakers will leave the party.  Before long, they will decrease their seats to 50 or 60.  It is impossible to form a coalition government of DPL, LDP and New Komeito after the election,” he states positively.

The problem is how to clean up after the election.  For the time being, Kamei’s assignment will be to integrate the anti-nuclear power generation, anti-big consumption tax, anti-Osprey deployment, and anti-TPP into a whole.  He himself points it out.

As for how to act before the general election, he says that it is to form a united front.  “I am preparing to establish procedures,” he also says.

Hatoyama is a feudal lord within the party and Ozawa another feudal lord after leaving the party.  Both of them continue rattling Noda.  What a smart strategy it is to share roles among the three!  I wonder who planned this strategy.

“Ozawa honored his words.  Hatoyama is a laughingstock of the party.  However, he acts, fully understanding everything.  He seeks for the best time to leave the party,” Kamei explains.  He seems to say as if there were no problem to form a united force.

<Powerful Four anti-nuke lawmakers>

Kamei has recently revealed that it is his close aide Akiko Kamei, a member of the House of Councilors that played the lead in helping three anti-nuke lawmakers leave the DPJ.  “The anti-nuke group of four will play an imporatnt role,” he predicts.

The group of four, who stood up anti-nukes, formed a parliamentary group after being influenced by the demonstration surrounding the prime minister’s residence.  It is the movement which is likely to gather anti-nuke political independents.

“Finally, all will get together, Hatoyama and Ozawa, too.  Being separated, we cannot topple Japan’s feudal government.  United, we will easily topple it.  We never fail to do so.”

I’d like to introduce some of tweets on Japan-U.S. alliance included in the book “Tweet before you leap” by Mr. Ukeru Magosaki.  According to Mr. Magosaki, Japan is dominated by Japan handlers (operatives in charge of Japan who give first priority to Japan-U.S. military cooperation, with a close relationship with U.S. military-industrial complex) who are not necessarily the mainstream of U.S. politics.  This is proved by many articles I have posted in this blog.
However, when you read his book, you will understand very well that if Japanese politicians and bureaucrats try hard, Japan-U.S. relations are likely to be changed in completely different direction.  I expect a lot of it.  I do recommend you to read this book because it is very interesting.

Reduction of U.S. military bases (1)
What is the most important problem for President Obama?  It is reduction of fiscal deficits.  President Obama has established a bipartisan fiscal deficit reduction commission and called for reducing one-third of U.S. military bases in foreign countries.  It is considering reducing two brigades in Germany; a total of 10,000 soldiers.  It also plans to reduce brigades in Europe and Asia; reduce $80 billion for a decade.

Reduction of U.S. military bases (2)
On the other hand, it is said that “Japan-U.S. relations was aggravated because former Prime Minister Hatoyama stated the transfer of Futenma base from Okinawa Prefecture/from Japan.”  Is it true?  Certainly the Japan handlers made a fuss about it.  The people in political world, bureaucracy, business world and mass media also made a fuss about it.  However, President Obama called for reduction of U.S. military bases in foreign countries!

Reduction of U.S. military bases (3)
There are people who ignore the direction of President Obama, dare to turn their back on the movement, and purposely create a crisis in Japan.  Mr. Maehara gave an order to apprehend Chinese fishing boats in violation of the Japan-China fisheries pact, and caused a crisis, which triggered activating the Korean military forces.  This was done based on the same argument.

The U.S. promotes to reduce the U.S. military bases in the world, but why is Japan alone exceptional?  This is because Japan’s sympathy budget allocations for U.S. military bases are extraordinarily high.  By looking at reports which persistently fan the need of U.S. military bases in Japan, you can tell what the U.S. really intends to do.>Editorial, Yomiuri: Strengthen Japan-U.S. Alliance to Cope With Crisis. The “Restoration Party” like hotchpotch is said to put as many as 350 people on the party’s ticket in the upcoming House of Representatives election; 300 people in all single-seat constituencies and 50 people in proportional representation constituencies.  This is exactly height of mobocracy.

It is not necessary to criticize again the poor quality of Koizumi’s children in last but one election and Ozawa’s children in the last election.  We cannot help admit that Hashimoto’s children in the next election are unprecedentedly inferior in quality.

Mass media should refrain from news reports to fan such fad for their own profit.  Hashimoto has achieved nothing in national politics.  Although he has an Osaka Metropolis plan, a bill to realize Osaka Metropolitan government has already been passed.  The ball has been thrown back into Mr. Hashimoto’s hands.  So, all he has to do is to take specific measures necessary to dismantle Osaka City, that is, to divide the city into three or four administrative wards.  However, he will not present any adjustment proposal to the city council.  Instead he is eager to participate in national politics and has been recruiting foolish expected candidates.

The political savvy in national politics of Mr. Hashimoto in question is still unknown and furthermore, it is uncertain how much he has achieved in Osaka prefectural administration he himself conducted.  What he did is to purchase at his discretion a defective newly-built structure and convert it into Osaka prefectural government office building, which created utter confusion.  He has served as mayor of Osaka for only one year or so since he was elected.  Meanwhile he has just provided topics of interest and much ado to mass media to help them increase their circulation.

Members of Restoration Group who are likely to take part in national politics are all down-and-out ex-politicians-turned-entertainers.  We cannot find any down-to-earth person who has committed himself to national politics to increase reform-minded people while taking care of his junior fellows by the sweat of his brow.

How dare such lowbrow person can say self-importantly “I don’t work with Mr. Ozawa”?  I don’t want Mr. Ozawa to be treated in the same way as an entertainer-turned-politician imitating a young comedian.  He should know himself and watch his tongue.

In another month the “Restoration Party” led by Mr. Hashimoto will give the show away and reveal its true colors.  Then the people will recognize it as a party of useless and reckless people.  The party will put up as many as 350 candidates with Mr. Higashikokubaru and Mr. Nakata as central figures.  Even central figures can only go so far.  I won’t even comment about many others.  It is absolutely obvious that the party will be a hodgepodge of useless people.

Mr. Ozawa has continued discovering rookie politicians and fostering them in study group for more than ten years.  Even such a rare politician as Mr. Ozawa can recruit up to 100 people in total.  Consider the fact that an institute of government and management started by the founder of a home appliance maker in his spare time after retirement has provided shoddy goods, and has caused so much trouble to the people.  You will easily understand that candidates like instant noodles who have no training institute cannot be normal.

People from the Press, you have purged Mr. Ozawa of the front stage of politics by maneuvering to expose him to merciless criticism in the “Rikuzan-kai incidence” feigned by the prosecutors.  And again you get complacent of having national politics confused by a “restoration fad,” which has been created by flattering an insignificant TV personality-turned local politician.  If you do not realize that you have committed a sin deserving to die 10000 times, we have no choice but to condemn the mass media in this country as merely public relations agency for pure demagogue.

First of all, it is questionable that deployment of the Osprey serves Japan’s interests.  This apparently shows the fact that Japan is not a democratic nation.  Are there any democratic nations in the world?  The Chávez regime is very democratic.  However, according to Western news reports, President Chávez is a dictator.  A word seems to have a completely different meaning in the world of politics and mass media.  According to the U.S., Osprey deployment is necessary for peace and stability in Far Eastern Asia and they send in Al Qaeda to Syria to fight with terrorists.  The U.S. is a country easy to understand, I think.

Opposition Inevitably Brought About

[Washington D.C., Kyodo]

It has been found on 7th that a U.S. Marine’s new type aircraft Osprey made an emergency landing in an urban area in North Caroline on 6th.  The Marine Corps has released it.  No one was injured and the aircraft was not damaged.  The aircraft, which was stationed at New River Air Station in North Caroline, was the same type aircraft scheduled to be deployed to U.S. Futenma airport (located in Ginowan City, Okinawa Prefecture).

The Marines plans to move the 12 Ospreys temporarily stationed in Iwakuni base (located in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture) to Futenma and start full-fledged operation of them in October.  A citizens’ protest rally against the Osprey deployment will be held in Okinawa on 9th.  It is likely that opposition to the deployment will spread all over the country, including Okinawa.

English translation of an excerpt of a Japanese article: Anya Yakou ~ I Give A Thought To Collapsing Japan ~ August 22, 2012

[Article to Note]  This Country Divided Into The Rich and The Poor: New-Rich and New-Poor Like This

Japan once had an age called “age of all Japanese belonging to the middle-class.”  Many households were called “middle-class” and all people lived an average and uniform life in a good sense.

A “uniform” outlook on world exemplified by this “age of all Japanese belonging to the middle class” fits to the mentality of Japanese who dislike explicitly excessive competition but it is the “lack in common sense” by global standards, hardly seen in the world.

The “gap between rich and poor” seen in this article is very common in almost every country.

I lived in Southern American countries in childhood because of my father’s work.  It is a sharp contrast between the town where the rich lived and the slum where the poor lived that is imprinted on my memory as a child.

On weekends the children of the poor begged for money surrounding the cars the rich family sat in.

Japan of “age of all Japanese belonging to the middle class” in a good sense is “totally opposite” to the society I lived in when I was a child.  Especially since “globalism” or “global standard” was adopted under the LDP/Koizumi administration, “global standardization” in a bad sense has been apparently promoted at once and the situation called “polarization” has been accelerated.

Namely, Japan has not been divided into the rich and the poor, but rather the “world specific to Japan” rarely seen in other countries has collapsed and the bad practice of the western countries has run rampant over Japan.  The result is the today’s “polarized” world.

In a word, Japanese characteristics have been lost and the gap between the rich and the poor commonly occurring in other countries has started to appear.  It is difficult to put back the clock again and “polarization” and “rich-poor gap” will be widened to the same level as in Western counties.

We Japanese will be challenged by a future never bright but poor.

(Excerpt of a Japanese article: Shukan Gendai “Blind Spot of Economics” – August 21, 2012 –

*This country divided into the rich and the poor
Part II: New-Rich and New-Poor Like This One out of six Japanese Poor and One out of 71 Rich
Confrontation between new-rich and new-poor Has Started!

**********************************************************************
Transition of population of the rich and poverty ratio
Polarization in progress; an increase of the rich as well as the poor

Looking at the right (*upper) graph, you will apparently see that new “millionaires” have come into existence every year since 2002, except for 2008, the year of outbreak of Lehman’s fall.

“The rich with financial assets of more than JPY 500 million are called “billionaires.”  There were 26,326 in 2009 and 34,879 in 2011.  Most of them run medical corporations or law firms.  Furthermore, many people are increasing their assets by inheriting them from their ancestors.

Approximately 90 percent of such people are considered to hold real estate in some form or other.  Approximately 10 percent among them are owners of condominium buildings.  As they have the whole buildings, with high profitability, wealth produces wealth.”  (Mr. Shotaro Kobayashi, Fuani Soken)

right: Japanese wages and number of families receiving public assistance

With a fall in wages, the number of families receiving public assistance continues to increase.

Nominal wage index is computed with 2010 as 100.
Source: Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare

On the other hand, new-rich and new-poor continue to mount, as mentioned the previous section.  The relative poverty ratio (the percentage of households with income of less than one-half of the median of income distribution) stipulated by OECD (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) was 14.9 percent in 2003 and 16 percent in 2009.  This means that one out of about six Japanese lives with income of less than one-half of the average income.

The number of people receiving public assistance goes on increasing with approximately 2.11 million people (approximately 1.53 million families) as of March 2012.  The budget to allocate to them reaches the enormous amount of money: approximately JPY 3.7 trillion.

It is highly likely that the number of people receiving public assistance, a great burden to public finance, will greatly increase.  This is because the new-poor have come into existence.  What are they like?  Mr. Ryouhei Kawamura, the secretary-general of NPO “POSSE” tackling the working poor issue, talks about it.

“The people in question are middle-aged and older part-time workers, mainly those in their 40s.  They are non-regular employees and yet not young.  Most of them are said to be unable to receive pension benefits in the future.  Comparing them with the young working in the same work place, they are in miserable situation.  When the young consider such people to be what they will be in the future, the young cannot try hard though their parents or full-timer friends encourage them to “do their best at work.”

There were the poor in the past, too.  However, the quality of poverty has greatly changed.  During the period of high economic growth, people could expect to live a better life in the future though they were poor and so they did not complain about low wages.

However, now once they become the poor, they will be unable to get job or satisfactory food.  They cannot expect better future.  The new-poor people have profound despair that hard work will not pay off.

*Exclusive Towns where the rich alone live

In addition, poverty causes vicious cycle.  College Management & Policy Research Center, Tokyo University Graduate School of Education has released shocking data.  The ratio of advancing to four-year colleges or universities was 28.2 percent for children born to parents with annual income of less than JPY 2 million.  Thirty-five point nine percent of such children opted to find employment after graduating from high-schools.

On the other hand, the ratio was 62.8 percent for children born to parents with annual income of JPY 12 million.  Only5.4 percent opted to find employment.

Namely, annual income of parents directly affects the academic background of children.  Not individual efforts but parentage determines social stratum.  A feeling of helplessness and a sense of stagnation have rampant over the whole society.

The areas where people with high annual income live are filled with plans to build ultra-rich condominiums.  European and American juggernauts have invested funds to such plans.  Mr. Arito Oki, representative of Attractors Labo., says:

“It is easier to maintain asset value of a condominium situated in a prime location in central Tokyo.  The rich who can afford to purchase expensive property are likely to make a profit by resale.

When purchasing real estate, the rich never compromise whatever it is for investment or for homes of their own.  They will not purchase real estate situated outside the Yamanote line with JPY 100 million, but rather will purchase real estate situated inside the line even with JPY 200 million.  They know that the latter is less risky.

On the other hand, low-income earners tend to choose property with a high risk of drop in price because of affordability and near-sighted accessibility.  Such different stance may widen the gap between the rich and the poor.”

To make the matters worse, the DPJ, LDP and New Komeito have promoted for the “comprehensive reform of social security and tax systems,” which will further affect low-income earners.

**********************************************************************************

Impact of “comprehensive reform of social security and tax systems” on household budget

”Comprehensive reform” will make the household with annual income of JPY 3 million
more badly-off than that with JPY 20 million!

*A major think-tank has made a trial estimate, considering the revisions described in annual outline of tax reform for fiscal 2012 and revisions in the bill for “comprehensive reform of social security and tax systems” including the tax increase for reconstruction and the consumption tax rate hike, both of which have enshrined in law.

How will the tax increase for reconstruction and the increase in social security expenses have an impact on the disposable income of the single-income family of four including two children?

According to a major think-tank, it estimates that the household with annual income of JPY 3 million experiences as much as a 8.87 percent decrease in disposable income while the high-income household with annual income of JPY 20 million, 7.41 percent decrease.  Higher-income earners suffer lesser impact.

It is more difficult for the poor to live in the society.  On the other hand, the rich complain about the social system in which the government uses the tax they pay for “the lazy.”  It seems almost impossible to bridge the rift between the two.

“As a matter of fact, the two northern islands, Kunashiri and Etorofu, of the northern territories were given to the Soviet Union in the final days of World War II by the U.S. in return for its participation of war against Japan.  And then, after the outbreak of the Cold War, the U.S. opposed the return of the two islands to the Soviet Union to purposely make it impossible to resolve the northern territories issue.  This is because the U.S. intended to leave seeds of conflict to prevent the two countries from building friendly relations.  Are you surprised?”

This is the routine activity of the U.S.  This is justice for the U.S.

Secret Pact on “Northern Territories Issue” between U.S. and Foreign Ministry

Although with regard to the Senkaku islands territorial dispute, Japan is historically in a weak position, the talks on the dispute have been kept on the shelf though Japan has effective control of the islands, which was  enabled by bilateral diplomatic efforts for normalization of Japan-China diplomatic relations and Deng Xianoping’s decision.

The U.S. military-industrial complex, which fishes in troubled waters by capitalizing the border issue to create tension and conflict between the two countries, made Japan break international customary practices through Maehara, a student of the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management.

And now they try to ignite public sentiment of both countries by escalated breach of practices; allowing forced landing by Hong Kong activists and tacitly approving of landing by Japanese.

Basic stance on the Senkaku (Uotsurijima) dispute

“Northern Territories issue” is the example in which the adverse party has effective control of the islands.
The two countries have historically different processes.
This is the same mechanism in which the U.S. fishes in troubled waters by having Japan and Soviet Union (later Japan and Russia) conflict with each other.  Interests of the Foreign Ministry are associated with this.

Due to defeat in war, Japan had the Kurile Islands abandoned under the Yalta Agreement, the Potsdam Declaration and the San Francisco Treaty.  However, in the negotiations with the Soviet Union after the war, the Soviet Union allowed Japan to have a chance to negotiate with it under the condition of conclusion of a peace treaty.

However, in the midst of U.S.-Soviet Union confrontation, the U.S. started saying “Kunashiri and Etorufu are not part of the Kurile islands.”
The Japan’s Foreign Ministry was not able to say “Not part of the Kurile islands” but seized the opportunity to switch over to “the return of all four islands as a package.”
Appropriate coverage or commentary on this issue remains to be given.  This is because it is impossible to do so.

Unless a strange quibble “Kunashiri and Etorofu are not part of the Kurile islands” is acknowledged, “return of the four islands as a package” is impossible.
Therefore, Habomai and Shikotan issues were unresolvable.
Thus, “Northern Territories issue” has become eternally guaranteed job for the Foreign Ministry.

Mr. Muneo Suzuki, who once tried to improve the Japan-Russia relations with the perspective of “possible chance to have negotiation on return of the two countries” the former Soviet Union showed, had his political career lost by the U.S. and the Ministry, and mass media and prosecutors.

Her Artwork On Exhibit By Age

Akiane Kramarik, age of 17, living in Illinois, U.S.A. had loved painting from her childhood and she studied drawing paintings by herself.  She reportedly started painting at the age of four and writing poetry at seven.

She depicts mainly landscape, animals and people.  Many of them make us feel that she has a strong connection with the “God” she images.  Some of her paintings she drew are on exhibit in chronological order from four to sixteen.

To tell the conclusion first, Roosevelt’s New Deal policy did not work so well.  Recovery of the U.S. economy was due to the earnings from special procurements from the Korean War.  Why the policy didn’t work well?  It is because issuance of government bonds siphoned money from the private sector.  Therefore, if the government had ordered the central bank to directly buy interest-free government bonds, the economy should have been promptly recovered without waging a war.

However, why was the U.S. not able to do such simple thing?  It is because people in power wanted to wage a war.  To make people get involved in a war, a great depression is indispensable for it.  They intentionally create the public anger and dissatisfaction in the form of recession, and direct such anger and dissatisfaction toward foreign countries to lead to war.

I think you understand this has already started.

The People Should Fight Back

Recently Mr. Minoru Morita has expressed a very fair argument on Twitter.

It is summarized as follows:

The Tokyo mass media mighty alliance, which consists of the five central big newspapers (Asahi, Mainichi, Yomiuri, Nikkei and Sankei) under control of the Finance Ministry, terrestrial central TV stations under the control of such newspapers and NHK led the country into the “tax increase under the economic recession.”  Such tax increase is the most unpardonable folly in the Japanese history after the war, which will destroy the people’s lives and destroy Japanese economy.

The next election will be the place to correct the faults committed by the Noda cabinet, major parties, Finance Ministry and mighty mass media alliance.

In the coming general election, the Japanese should retaliate against the Noda administration and DPJ lawmakers, which cheated the people nonchalantly in violation of their commitment, the Finance Ministry, which manipulated the administration, and the ministry’s cat’s paw mass media.

I’d like to give my opinion to major newspapers which promoted the tax incresse and rejoice at realization of it.

“Tyranny is fiercer than a tiger.”  (Book of Rites by Confucius)  It means that politics of collection of heavy tax is more terrifying than a maneating tiger.  History proves that tax-hike measures at a time of economic recession will bring about a terrible result.

I’ll give you an example.

In 1931, the U.S. implemented a tax increase under the economic recession and invited the Great Depression, which created a great number of unemployed people.

In the U.S. Roosevelt was elected U.S. president as substitute for President Hoover under the Republican government, who caused the Great Depression.

Roosevelt implemented the New Deal policy and temporarily succeeded in economic recovery, but collapsed U.S. economy as he compromised with the Finance Ministry on fiscal reconstruction measures (tax increase).

Recurrence of great depression made the U.D. plunge into war economy.

To solve the unemployment problem, Roosevelt chose a world war.

We should not forget this historical lesson.

Reading the editorials in morning editions of major newspapers (Asahi, Mainichi, Yomiuri, Nikkei and Sankei) on August 11th, they all rejoice at the enactment of the tax increase bill as if they had a huge success.

The editorials conspicuously show cold-bloodedness of major mass media.

In view of the five major newspapers that rejoice at the enactment of the tax increase bill, which will destroy the public life and collapse Japan’s economy, I remember December 8, 1941, the day when the Japanese army waged a war against the U.S. by a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.

The major newspapers at that time complimented the Japanese government and the military that had started the U.S. Japan war, the silliest act of the century.

And they fanned the flames of war.

The editorials in major newspapers on August 11th show that these major mass media of Japan still have the same character as puppet of political power.

Now major mass media representing Japan praise the Noda cabinet for its silliest act of the century: the tax increase measures at the time of the ecocnomic recession.

How horrifying it is!

The people have to fight back.

The next election will be the place for us to fight back.

I’d like to give a big hand to Mr. Morita.
Although the date is unknown, the general election will be held before next summer at the latest, and the House of Councilors election in August.
I want you all not to forget this chagrin and to show it by casting your votes.
