What is the specific state of consciousness of “enlightenment”? – A person who has attained enlightenment at the final stage feel at ease just the way he is without having “ideal self-image”!
I find the article below very interesting. It describes the specific state of “enlightenment” in an easily comprehensible manner. I think that most of the article is exactly true.

As written in the article, there are a great many of ordinary people who have attained enlightenment and it is not so difficult to attain enlightenment as generally considered to be. At present light has been showered by the goddess of Central Sun of Universe and the goddess of Central Sun of Milky Way Galaxy. Therefore, I think that many people will attain enlightenment in the near future.

As I explained in the previous article, “I” am consciousness/mind/body. In Indian philosophy, however, there is a concept of three attributes (Gunas), which areSattva(purity), Rajas(passion or activity) and Tamas(darkness). Sattva is the quality of light and luminosity, Rajas is the quality of stimulation and activity, which is the essence of suffering, and Tamas is the quality of repression and sluggishness.

“I” consists of consciousness, mind and body. You can see that they are SattvaRajas and Tamas in this order. Humans are different from animals in that mind is too active and has too many things which stimulate it. Mind is thoughts and feelings. Humans have too many thoughts, in particular. The more thoughts people have, the more they suffer.

Although “I” consists of consciousness, mind and body, most people misunderstand that “I” am mind and body. They ignore the most important consciousness (awareness).

Mediation is very effective means to attain “enlightenment.” The essence of mediation is to reduce active state of mind and body. By doing so, we increase the portion of consciousness (awareness), whose essence is “comfort.” Therefore, you don’t have to sit quietly in Zen meditation. All you have to do is to be aware of your mind and body. You should make daily life meditative. By doing so, you can reduce movement of mind, which causes suffering.

I suppose that many people felt time go by slowly in childhood. Why? Children live “now.” However, as they think, they begin to visualize their future and make efforts for it. At that time, “Ego” namely “ideal self” arises in mind.

Have you ever seen a cat that makes efforts to be a better cat? Have you ever seen a cat that laments over its uselessness because he makes no sufficient efforts to be a better cat? In this sense, the cat has no“ego.”

The article below says that at the final stage of enlightenment, “sense of ego completely disappears.” It means lack in “ideal self-image” which you have to change into with efforts.In short, an enlightened person feels at ease just the way he is. To put it simply, he lives like a cat.

Disappearance of “ego” means this, not lack in self-other consciousness.

“What is the state of enlightenment?” The results obtained by examining 50 enlightened people with psychological methods released in TransTech Conference

<snip>
Dr. Martin says that     <snip>  he has had contact with more than 2,500 people over 12 years.
<snip>
“We have an image of enlightenment as being exclusively confined to religious leaders. But I have found that there are a great number of ordinary people who have attained enlightenment,” Dr. Martin says. <snip>     He screened 50 people among them and interviewed them for six to 12 hours per person, and repeated computational psychology technique, physical measurements and experiments on them. According to Dr. Martin, the results showed that “enlightened people” have something in common.

<snip>

What is the specific state of consciousness referred to as PNSE (enlightenment, or awakening)?   <snip> He says that the most outstanding common experience shared by people who have attained enlightenment is change in sense of Ego.  <snip>
Sense of ego seems to differ depending on the stage of PNSE. They say that at the early stageEgo expands and they feel like connecting with everything, while the sense of Ego completely disappears at the final stage. They say that Ego remains at the intermediate stage and sometimes they are pulled back to Ego.
<snip>
Most people answer that thoughts significantly decreased.<snip> “Thoughts” in this case means worldly thoughts about their own self, and it does not mean that the ability to solve problems by thoughts necessary to live an ordinary life decreases. <snip>  Like thoughts, feelings also decrease in the state of PNSE and decrease more with the advancement of the stage of PNSE.
<snip>
When attaining PNSE, worldly thoughts decrease and therefore they don’t remember the past or worry about future, and as a result, they get to focus on the events in front of them.  <snip> Another big change concerning recognition is the change of mind’s response to external stimuli. <snip>  More advancement in PNSE stage, they say they can control response to external stimuli. And at the final stage,  <snip>  it seems that their response is just awareness to external stimuli.
<snip>
Next, Dr. Martin examined what make people with ordinary awareness attain PNSE. As a result, he concluded: “It is not so difficult to attain PNSE than generally considered to be. Only if finding an activity that fits them, many people can attain PNSE.”  “It is far more difficult to work out the difference between new awareness and their life after attaining PNSE than to attain PNSE,” Dr. Martin points out.
<snip>
From consciousness in which you always feel lack of something to consciousness in which you always feel filled with happiness.Now humans might stand in front of the door of a big change.
