Of course, Ahmed doesn’t show up. He doesn’t leave the country either unless he tries to get to Germany again. And if not, he wanders aimlessly through the streets of Polish cities…It turns out that the Border Guard often stops the smuggling of illegals…Very often the couriers are drugged Ukrainians…in station wagons, 10 illegals can fit, often several in the trunk; in buses, even thirty-something. I probably don’t need to write what a stench there is when they take care of their physiological needs for so many hours. Morale among the Border Guard units is low. They themselves say that they are acting as a green taxi and a hotel for illegals. Many simply throw in sick leave.
